Perhaps the first and most important thing you need to know about the vitamin B complex is that it is in fact not a single vitamin. Unlike, for example, vitamin C or vitamin D (which are merely organic compounds), B complex is actually a group of different chemicals. It is, in fact, what is known as a “complex” (the same way we have, for example, a hospital complex or university – which has many different buildings, but related).

One of eight different vitamins that make up the Vitamin B complex is known as vitamin B1. Biochemical substance that is known as thiamine. The second in the vitamin B complex is a biochemist who are designated as riboflavin, but for reasons of convenience known as vitamin B2. This is a vitamin B3, as well, and it is the substance of a biochemist who is more technically referred to as niacin. There are, however, not B4. B3 to “jump” all over with vitamin B5, which is actually an acid – which is known as pantothenic acid. B7 B6 pyridoxine and biotin, respectively. But no vitamin B8. This means that vitamin B7, to go through with vitamin B9, which happens to be the substance known as folic acid.
